My deepest condolences to the family of Dr William A Coyle .
Dr. Coyle literally saved my life and my leg in 1972 after a horrific motorcycle accident.
I was first a patient of Dr. Coyle in 1963 at the age of 11 years old after breaking my tibia in a bicycle accident.
In August 1972 after two months in traction, he operated on my left leg after the swelling went down a bit .
The operation was 10 to 12 hours long.
My father told me later Dr Coyle told him that he decided twice to cut my leg off from the hip.
Dr. Coyle not only saved my life and my left leg but six years later after getting off the crutches in 1975 I walked 150 miles for John Lennon ain the coldest part of winter.after he was killed. I’m a singer songwriter after Finishing three albums, called singing the rosary, I traveled to Medjugorje Yugoslavia .
I had to climb a steep mountain for three days in a row and Good Friday, Saturday and Easter Sunday 1988. On Easter Sunday I took a famous photograph called the good Shepherd.. it was internationally published around the world in 1989 to 90 before Photoshop and AI was ever introduced.
The story about the photograph and how I met my wife can be found at JesusInTheclouds.com.
I became a third-degree certified black belt instructor. I think you know where I’m going with this Dr. Coyle gave me a life
a family and allowed God to use me even to this day.
I started trying to contact him 10 or 15 years ago, even contacted the Delaware County daily times to do a story on him. I could not reach him even after writing a letter to his family and giving it to his former orthopedic practice
Dr, Coyle , his wife, daughter and family are remembered a daily noon mass for the rest of my life. I can’t tell you how much I owe this man. I have a wife ,three wonderful sons and three wonderful daughters all because of Dr. Coyle.
I’ll be 73 years old this month in July. I still have my left leg 53 years later and there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t thank the Lord for Dr William Coyle .
Thank you Dr. Coyle for all you did for me
I told my son today who found this obituary that he wouldn’t be alive if it wasn’t for Dr. Coyle.
Each one of us have the ability to change lives
And Dr. Coyle’s case there were lives also created because hie cared to save my leg. I feel sure if it were one of his two partners they would’ve amputated.
Dr. Coyle, may you rest in our Lord and Savior’s wonderful arms and may your family and generations of Family forward and backward be blessed and remain with you in heaven for the rest of eternity. Father God I ask this in the name of Jesus, amen
