Ugo Passerini, 85 of Brookhaven, passed away on Dec. 6, 2019 at home. Ugo was born in Italy to Antonio and Antonietta (Trignani) Passerini. He learned his trade as a bricklayer in Italy. He spent 8 years working as a bricklayer in Venezuela. Ugo returned to Italy and married his wife, Amelia. Ugo and his family moved to the United States in 1972. They lived for four years in Chester and then moved to Brookhaven. Ugo worked as a bricklayer here in the United States and worked up until two weeks prior to his death. He was passionate about his garden and spending time with his family.
He is predeceased by his parents and his sister Anna D’Angelantonio. Ugo is survived by his wife of 55 years, Amelia (Lanaro) Passerini; his children Anthony (Denise) Passerini and Gabriella (Michael) Mercincavage; his grandchildren Vincent Passerini, Anne-Marie Mercincavage, Christina Mercincavage, Alyssa Mercincavage and Matthew Passerini; and his brothers Luigi and Bartolomeo Passerini, their wives, and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass on Thursday Dec. 12 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Charity Church 230 Upland Rd. Brookhaven. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM and on Thursday from 8:30 to 9:15 AM at Carr Funeral Home 935 S. Providence Rd. (Route 320) Wallingford. Burial will be at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Springfield. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to the “CHOP Foundation” are appreciated.
