 | S. Joseph “Joe” McNicholas, age 88, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2015. Joe was a much-loved resident of the Residence at Glen Riddle, Media, PA, most recently in the Memory Care Unit. He was a 1945 graduate of St. James High School in Chester, and was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He worked as an electrical tester for General Electric Corporation until his retirement in 1987. Joe enjoyed golf, bowling, and umpiring softball games. He loved the beach, having spent part of his childhood in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He was preceded in death by three successive wives, Doris A. (nee Brennan) who died in 1972, Dorothy E. (nee Pron) who died in 1986, and Dorothy M. (nee Bundick) who died in 2009, as well as his sister, Elizabeth A. Reed of Brigantine, New Jersey and his brother, Timothy J. McNicholas of Long Branch, New Jersey. He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia A. McNicholas, Esquire, of Glen Mills, as well his sister, Mary Jane Gill of Egg Harbor City, New Jersey and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to visitation beginning at 9:30 AM Wednesday at Church of St. Joseph, 3255 Concord Road, Aston, PA, followed by 10:30 Mass, and burial at SS.
