Robert V Williams, resident of Wallingford, PA., Passed peacefully with his family at his side, Saturday October 8th, 2016. Robert (Bob) Williams was born on December, 3, 1922 to John J and Anne Williams (deceased). Bob had three siblings, a brother, John Jr. (Jack) and two sisters, Dorothy and Betty who are all deceased. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Juanita (Jan) Williams, his son, Mark Williams and his granddaughter, Katherine Williams, all currently residing in Wallingford, PA.
Bob graduated from Media High School in 1941, and enlisted into the Army Air Corps in 1942.
He held the rank of Tech Sergeant and was a radio operator and gunner on the B-24 Liberator bomber of the 392nd Bomb group. He flew 7 missions over Nazi targets in WWII before being shot down on February 24, 1943. Held as a POW by the Nazis for 15 months, Bob was liberated two weeks before Nazi Germany Surrendered in the spring of 1945. Bob was a good husband, a good father and good friend to all who knew him.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 15th at 11am at the Carr Funeral Home 935 S. Providence Rd. (Rte 320) Wallingford, PA. Friends and family are invited to call from 10am-11am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Conshohocken, PA.
