Robert Prorock, 77, passed away peacefully at Riddle Memorial Hospital on March 9th, 2022. Robert was born and raised in Chester and was a graduate of Chester High School. He enlisted in the US Army and was assigned to headquarters, Military Assistance Command – Vietnam. While serving in Vietnam, Robert volunteered for and flew combat missions as a door gunner aboard Huey helicopters. Upon returning home, he married his high school sweetheart, Mary Ann Zukowski and they remained partners until his death.
Robert had a long career with United Airlines and Pathmark. In his later years, he volunteered taking service dogs to comfort patients in hospitals and nursing homes. Robert was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Helen Prorock. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; sister, Maria Denise of the Bernardine Franciscan Sisters; sons, Keith (Lori), Eric (Melissa); daughter, Denise (Anthony); grandsons, Jonathan and Justin. Robert was extremely proud that Jonathan is serving as a US Air Force officer and that Justin is a cadet in the Delaware County Police Academy.
Services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Robert’s name to the service dog organization or canine rescue of your choice.
