
Richard J. Bortner, 75, of Clifton Heights passed away on Friday, January 13th at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital. He was born in Philadelphia to the late Richard and Anna Bortner. Rich was a veteran of the US Army with whom he served in the Vietnam War from 1969 - 1970. He was a member of the United Auto Worker’s Union 813 and spent most of his career working for the Budd Company. Rich was a member of the Knights of Columbus St. John Chrysostom Council 10935. He was also a member of the VFW Post 3460 and was an associate member of the Smedley D. Butler Marine Corp League.
He is survived by his children, Kimberly Conte (Christopher), Richard M. Bortner (Crystal), and Michael Bortner (Sonya); grandchildren, David, Alexis, Katelyn, Nickolas, Ryan, Annabella and Christopher; brother, Robert Bortner; sisters, Susan Bortner, and Kathleen Giangiulio.
His funeral mass will be held on Thursday, January 19th at 11am at St. John Chrysostom Church 617 S. Providence Rd. Wallingford, PA. Friends and family are invited to his viewing from 10-11am in church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Media, Pa.
