McLaughlin, Patricia (nee Grace)
On Sunday, February 10, 2019 , Patricia McLaughlin passed away peacefully. Born in Chester, the hometown she loved, daughter of Florence (Sissy) and Stephen Grace and sister of Reverend Robert Grace, she graduated from Notre Dame high school and began her professional career at the Scott Paper Company. In 1951 she was married to Raymond (Mopes) McLaughlin and is survived by their four children Patricia, Raymond, Bernadette and Robert. She decided to return to work in the mid- sixties at the Springhaven Country Club as a bookkeeper and by the time she retired was responsible for much more. She was a lifelong sports fan whose loyalty to her Phillies, Eagles and Sixers was legendary and unwavering. She enjoyed bowling and golf, which she learned to play in her retirement; but her true passion was her grandchildren she loved and great-grandchildren she adored. Her spirit and love of life is apparent in each one of them.
Her viewing will be held on Thursday February 14, 2019 from 6 to 8 PM at the Carr Funeral Home 935 S Providence Road, Wallingford PA 19086. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic church 430 Valley Brook Road in Glen Mills PA 19342 at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 15. The church will be open for visitation from 9:00 to 9:45. Burial will follow in SS Peter & Paul Cemetery. Donations in lieu of flowers can be sent to Tri state Basset Hound Rescue or Mount Saint Mary's Seminary.
