Nancy Merchant Smith, age 84, of Concordville, PA, formerly of Chester, PA, died peacefully at Bryn Mawr Hospital Hospice on January 16, 2017.
Nancy enjoyed her family, friends, and many special pets through the years, including her beloved horses, dogs and cats. For many years, she worked in the retail clothing industry as a buyer, including at Strawbridge and Clothier and Weinberg’s. Nancy also for a time managed “The Country House”, a women’s clothing store in Brookhaven, PA. She especially enjoyed her trips to Hawaii, vacations on Long Beach Island, and family pool parties at her Concordville home. Nancy was an excellent baker.
Nancy was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Annette (Adams) Merchant. She is survived by her children, John (Sandra) Gamble and Richard (Bonnie) Gamble; 5 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of many years, William Robert Smith, and former husband, John Gamble III.
Funeral services will be private.
