Michael Robert Boorum, 58, of Media, Pennsylvania, passed suddenly on December 1, 2017. He was born in Buffalo, N.Y. on November 27, 1959 to the late Nancy Boorum (née Downey) and Robert “Bob” Boorum.
He is survived by two devoted sons, Robert and Richard Boorum, a loving daughter, Gabriella Grosso, and their mother, Kathryn Haywood, all of Philadelphia, PA; a sister, Wendy (Roger Klaffka) of Apopka, FL.;, and a brother, Thomas (Vicki) of Erie, PA
Michael is preceded in death by his beloved sister, Mary Becker (née Boorum).
Michael was an active member of the Knights of Columbus where he achieved the advanced honor known as the Fourth Degree. Michael coached all of his children in CYO basketball and Nether Providence soccer. Michael worked hard and loved spending his free time with his children golfing, watching and going to sporting events, going to concerts and bowling. He was a league bowler for many years.
His funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, December 6th at 11am at St. John Chrysostom Church 617 S. Providence Rd. Wallingford, PA. Friends and family are invited to call from 9am-10:45am in Church. Burial will be private. Donations in lieu of flowers to St. John’s CYO, the Nether Providence Athletic Association, or another charity of your choice in the name of Michael Boorum would be greatly appreciated.
