Michael Patrick Ewing of Swarthmore died April 17 at Prospect Park Nursing Home. He was born in Ridley Park to Bob and Bernice (nee Fenza) Ewing. He was a proud 1975 graduate of St James High School. Mike worked at the Daily Times as a truck driver and at Smart Park Airport parking in various roles.
He loved his family and was proud to tell everyone about them. Mike enjoyed playing sports, (football, basketball, baseball, later softball) and watching them, especially the Eagles and Notre Dame football teams. He coached at Cardinal O’Hara High School in the late 70s, 80s and early 90s serving as the offensive coordinator. He enjoyed being with family and friends boating on the Delaware River. He served as Riverside Yacht Club chairman of the board for many years.
Mike is predeceased by his mother Bernice and his son Jeffrey and father-in-law Fred Reynolds.
He is survived by his wife Sharon, son Michael (Jeanne), his grandchildren Molly and Stella, his father Bob, his brother Robert (Sue), sisters in law Terri (Roger), Rhonda (Jim), mother in law Dee, nephews Bobby (Lisa), Ryan (Brandy) and niece Cher (Joe).
Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Service on Friday April 21 at 1 PM in Carr Funeral Home 935 S. Providence Rd. (Route 320) Wallingford where friends may call from 10:30 AM to 1 PM. Int. Private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the charity of the donor’s choice are appreciated.
