Mario Scalora

Mario A. Scalora, 61, of Avondale died November 9, 2014 at Jennersville Hospital.  Mr. Scalora was born in Chester the son of the late Salvatore “Sam” and Martha nee Yannelli Scalora.  Mario attended St. Robert School, St. James High School ’71 and the University of Scranton ’75.  Mario also attended Ultrasound Diagnostic School. He had lived in Wallingford prior to moving to Avondale 11 years ago. Mario was employed as a Registered Vascular Specialist by Thomas Jefferson University Hospital for the past 5 years previously working for Delaware Cardiovascular Associates for 10 years. Mario was a member of St. John Chrysostom Parish where he was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus Council 10935 and a member of Cardinal Dougherty General Assembly.  The Knights had many fund raising activities to support Mother of Providence regional school.  Also he was a member of Cardiovascular Credential zing International. Mario was loved and respected by everyone he met and came in contact with. He is survived by his wife Janice M. nee Alpaugh Scalora, daughter Jennifer Cheeseman (Matthew) of Media, son Salvatore A. Scalora (Dara) of Plymouth Meeting,  grandson Bennett Matthew Cheeseman, brother Lorenzo (Larry) Scalora (Linda), uncles Carmen Scalora of Aston, Joseph Scalora of Wilmington and his aunt Josephine Scalora of Wilmington, numerous cousins and nephews and nieces. Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral on Friday at 8:30 A.M. from the Carr Funeral Home 935 S. Providence Rd. (Rt. 320) Wallingford.  Funeral Mass at 10:30 A.M. St. John Chrysostom Church Wallingford.  Friends may call at the Carr Funeral Home Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Friday from 8:30 to 10:00 A.M. Int. SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
