Marilyn (Feery) McNicholas, 94, of Bryn Mawr, formerly of Paoli and Wayne, passed away on Dec 5, in her home.
Marilyn was born in Chicago, Illinois. A graduate of Mundelein College, Chicago, and Northwestern University, Chicago.
Marilyn retired after 15+ years from her position as a Special Education teaching assistant at Wayne Elementary School. She previously was employed in a doctor's office, a school in Chicago, and worked many years as a homemaker raising her family. Marilyn had been a member of St.Katharine of Siena in Wayne and Saint Norberts in Paoli. She volunteered at Surrey Services, Amnesty International and other organizations. She enjoyed birding, travel, outdoor activities, family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her husband of fifty-five years, John P. McNicholas.
She is survived by two daughters, Heather Malinowski (Christopher) of Tarpon Springs, Jane McNicholas (Tim Jordan) of Claymont, DE, six sons John (Mely, deceased) of Valencia, Ca, Michael (Kim) of West Chester, David (Michelle) of Glenolden, Joseph of Pottstown, Mark (Judy) of Hollidaysburg, Gregory (Chris) of Bryn Mawr, eleven grandchildren, one great grandson. She is also survived by her sister Dorothy Cysewski (Richard, deceased) Lincoln, CA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her funeral services and interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in Marilyn’s name to : Covenant House (a faith-based initiative to protecting teenage runaways) or Surrey Services (a community-based organization promoting safe and independent living for senior citizens in their homes)
