Maria C. Kaufman, 71, formerly of Wallingford, passed away on Wednesday, November 6th at Crozer Chester Medical Center. She was born in Philadelphia to the late Salvatore and Julia Milano. Maria was a graduate of Cardinal O’Hara High School with the class of 1966. She worked for many years as the executive secretary for Myrna Snyder, who with her husband, Ed, formerly owned the Flyers. She then went on to become the Owner and operator of Maria’s Bakery in Ridley Township for 32 years.
Maria was a long-time member of St. John Chrysostom Church where she was active in the Pre-Cana program and also volunteered to make meals for those less fortunate. What she enjoyed most, however, was spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Thomas Kaufman; Children, Chris Kaufman (Erica), Laura Oakes (Chris), and Matt Kaufman (Phoebe); and sister, Kathy Wise (Kirk). Also, there is nothing she enjoyed more than being “Gigi” to her 10 grandchildren.
Her Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 15th at 11am at St. John Chrysostom Church 617 S. Providence Rd., Wallingford, PA 19086. Friends and family are invited to call on Thursday evening from 6-8pm and on Friday morning from 10-11am both at church. Internment will follow in SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Big Hearts to Little Hearts https://bighearts2littlehearts.com/campaigns/general-donation/donate/
