It is with great sorrow that the family of Kathleen Mary Lynam announces her passing on August 7, 2022.
Kathleen was born on June 7, 1945 to Francis (Frank) and Katharine Sweeney Lynam. Born and raised in Chester, PA, Kathleen graduated from St. Robert’s Grade School and Notre Dame High School for Girls, Moylan, PA Class of 1963. After graduating from high school, Kathleen was employed by the Pennsylvania Military College as the secretary to the Head of the English Department.
In 1966, Kathleen began working at the Crozer-Chester Medical Center, where she proudly was one of the First Hospital Unit Secretaries to work in the Burn Center from its inception, as well as being one of the first Board Certified Hospital Unit Secretaries. She retired in 2008 after 42 years of dedicated service. Kathleen was a very kind, generous and loving sister. She was special to everyone who knew her.
She was predeceased by her parents and her grandparents Patrick J. and Katherine Sweeney. She is survived by her brother Hugh and Frank (Victoria), her sister Mary Elizabeth (John) Pallam and cousins.
At Kathleen’s request, there will be no viewing prior to Mass.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass on Friday August 12, 2022 at 10AM at St. Katharine Drexel Church (formerly St. Robert’s) 1920 Providence Ave. Chester, PA 19013. Entombment will follow at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield.
