John Patrick Gaughan, 68, of Wallingford, PA passed away on Monday, April 17th.  He was born in New York City and raised and educated in Trenton, New Jersey.  John was a graduate of St. Anthony High School in Trenton. He then went on to graduate from Allentown College of St. Francis De Sales and proudly earned an MBA from Iona University.  John worked in many industries and eventually was self-employed as a quality control auditor.  He simultaneously had a 40-year career in real estate. Though he had a work ethic unequaled, what brought him the greatest joy was spending time with his wife and family.

John was predeceased by his father, Patrick Michael Gaughan.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Sarah Gaughan; his cherished children, Andrea Gaughan (Jamis), Celeste Gaughan, and Patrick Gaughan; mother, Mary Gaughan; sisters, Maureen Cohen (Robert), Eileen DiLauro, Bernadette DePrez (Michael), and Margaret Upton (Kyle). He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Helen Conry; sisters-in-law Laura Conry, and Catherine Conry (Paul Hartley); as well as many nieces and nephews. Johnny, as many of his family and friends knew him, was generous, kind, witty, and intelligent. He will be missed immensely.

His funeral mass will be held on Saturday, April 22nd at 11am at St. John Chrysostom Church 617 S. Providence Rd. Wallingford, PA. Friends and family are invited for visitation at the church from 9:30-10:45 prior to the funeral mass. A burial service will follow in St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery, 430 Valleybrook Road Glen Mills, PA.

Family and friends are invited back to St. John Chrysostom, Stevenson Center located at the lower level of the Parish House to gather for a light luncheon.

We were collage roommates and traveled the world after our ungraduated years. I spent time at his parents house and his uncle's place in NYC. John had quick wit full of life personality that nobody can match. I just learned of his passing today while searching for another collage friend of ours that passed in Nov 2024.

Thanks Paul. It was kind of you to write a note to our family. I know John remembered you fondly. We miss him every day.

I found a few photos from mid 70's. I think we were in Paris. If interested, please email me and I can scan them.
