John J. “Jack” Dougherty Jr., 80, of Ridley Park died August 15 at Sterling Health Care and Rehab. He was the son of John J. and M. Alice (nee Elwood) Dougherty. He graduated from St. James High School Class of 1953. He worked as a draftsman at Sun Ship,Raytheon and Day & Zimmerman until his retirement.
He was very active in Boy Scouts, the Knights of Columbus Marian Council 3753, and the St. James Alumni Association where he was the long-time Treasurer and was awarded the Magnificent Bulldog. He enjoyed collecting stamps and coins.
Mr. Dougherty was predeceased by his wife Geraldine (nee Welsh) in 2015 and his brother Joseph.
He is survived by his sons Sean (Elaine) Dougherty of Media, Tucker (Anne) Dougherty and Dennis(Lisa) Dougherty both of Kennett
Square, his grandchildren, Zac, Ryan, Kevin, Tommy, Erin, Matt and Owen, his brothers James of Glassboro, NJ. and Jerald of
Louden, TN and his sister Mary Jude Flood of Aldan.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass on Friday at 11:00 AM in St. Madeline Church, 110 Park St. Ridley Park, PA 19078. Friends may call 9 to 10:45 am at the church. Int. SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
