Johanna A. Wilchensky, 91, died May 9 at Riddle Memorial Hospital. She was born in Altoona to Michael and Carmella Laganelli. She was a lifelong resident of Chester and graduated from St. Anthony's School and Chester High School. She was a secretary for the City of Chester in the Dept. of Public Safety. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima for nearly 60 years. Mrs. Wilchensky was dedicated to her family and her church and especially to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed to travel.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Stephen Wilchensky who died in 1988 and her brothers Sam Laganelli and Guy Rostelli.
Mrs. Wilchensky is survived her son Stephen M. (Rose) Wilchensky of Wallingford, her daughter Cindy (Charles) Massaro of Lansdowne, her grandchildren Stephen and Christopher Wilchensky, Lisa Heston, Max and Gabrielle Massaro, 7 great grandchildren and her special niece Joanne Leonardo.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 10 am in St. Rose of Lima Church 1901 Chester Pike Eddystone. Friends may call from 9 to 9:45am at the Church. Int. St. Michael's Cemetery.
