 | Jean M. Alessi, 80, longtime resident of Upland, died February 10 at Foulk Manor North. Mrs. Alessi was born in Chester to Thomas and Kathleen Carroll. She graduated Immaculate Heart School and Notre Dame High School. She did secretarial work for the Linde Corporation and worked in the billing department at Riddle Hospital for 25 years until her retirement in 2000. Mrs. Alessi was a former member of Our Lady of Charity Church. She liked to read, she had lots of friends and was devoted to her family and church. Besides her parents, Mrs. Alessi was predeceased by her husband of 50 years John V. Alessi who died in 2009, her siblings Thomas, Lawrence, Arthur, Philomena, Kathleen, Catherine and Mary Carroll, Anne Maher, Agnes Sweeney, Rita Johnson and Josephine Costa. Mrs. Alessi is survived by her son John V. Alessi, Jr. of Garnet Valley, daughter Karen A. Traub of Merritt Island, FL , 3 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass on Monday at 10:30 am in Our Lady of Charity Church 231 Upland Rd. Brookhaven. Friends may call Sunday from 6 to 8pm and Monday from 9 to 10am in Carr Funeral Home 935 S. Providence Rd. (Route 320) Wallingford. Int. Immaculate Heart Cem.
