Jane Harriet Koperna, formerly of Boothwyn, PA, passed away on March 30, 2018, in Bradenton, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen A. Koperna, III, her daughter, Rita Hallback, and her granddaughter, Hannah Butler.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindi Halloway (Ken), and her sons, Stephen T. Koperna (Evelyne) and John E. Koperna (Tina). She was affectionately known as Mom-Mom to Jacqui Lauer (Jeremy), Shea Thompson, Karlee Norell (Gus), Tiffany Hollman (Shawn), William Butler, Stephen Koperna (Briana), Brittany McVey (Jonathan), Rachel Koperna, Tommy Walders, Kenneth Halloway, Tori Koperna, and John Koperna. In addition to her grandchildren, Jane leaves behind her precious great grandchildren Skylar, Josalyn, Elias, Jonathan, Landon, Caleb, Autumn, Stephen, Makalah, Nathan, Amiyah, Izzie, Giuliana, and Lexin. Beyond her immediate family, she leaves behind her sisters, Christine Morgan (Tommy) and Sarah Buchanan; brother-in-law, Frank Koperna (Elaine); sisters-in-law, Kathy Koperna (Mike), Kathy Konegan (Bub), Bernadette Salwach (Bob), and Chris Guidetti (Bob); and many nieces and nephews.
We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Jane during her 74 years of life. While some of Jane’s wise maxims include “There is no place like Hawaii,” “Money doesn’t buy happiness, but it sure makes life easier,” and “Treat people the way you want to be treated,” her ultimate contribution to this world was the example she set for those around her. With Jane, the door was always open to her friends and family. She readily offered a shoulder on which to cry, a warm meal, a listening ear, and an honest opinion. She made people feel accepted and loved despite their past mistakes. If Jane was your friend, you knew she would move heaven or earth for you. This was evidenced throughout her lifelong friendships with Jayne Loveland, Juana Giglio, Cindy Mann, Shirley Green, and Rita Hill.
The family requests the honor of your presence at her celebration of life. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing on Sunday, April 8, from 6:00-8:00 PM and/or Monday, April 9, from 9 to 9:45 AM at Carr Funeral Home, 935 S. Providence Rd. (Route 320) Wallingford, PA 19086. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John Fisher Roman Catholic Church, 4225 Chichester Ave., Boothwyn, PA 19061 at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA.
