Cherished husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, James Michael Clancey, 94, of Wallingford, Pennsylvania, passed away November 5th at Riddle Hospital in Media, PA. Loving husband to Ann B. Clancey for over 64 years, he was father to Patricia Clancey Klem, Guerric M. Clancey, and James N. Clancey; grandfather to Christopher James Klem and Katharine D. Klem; and great grandfather to Francis Ann Klem and Eleanor Rose Klem.
James (“Jim”) is predeceased by his parents, James Michael Clancey and Margaret Ledwith Clancey, and his sister Virginia (Clancey) Susla. He is survived by his brother Michael Shea of Wisconsin.
Born in New Haven, CT, Jim worked for the Railroad for over 40 years and served in the Navy during WW II in Japan. In his younger years, Jim was a stained glass artist, metal sculptor, and tool craftsman. In his older years, Jim became an expert on antique silver and was an avid collector. He had several articles published in Silver Magazine and was a consistent donor to the New Haven Museum in Connecticut. Jim also loved and studied classical music, teaching himself the violin when younger and amassing an extensive music collection. He loved literature, oriental rugs, and had a passion for antique clocks.
A kind and gentle man, Jim will be missed by all whose lives he touched.
