James J. Curry passed away on June 15th, 2019, at the age of 72. As a long time resident of Upper Chichester, Jim was greatly involved in his community serving as commissioner on The Board of Supervisors for the township, member of the school board, and member of the Chichester Business Association. Jim also served his country in the United States Navy. Upon retirement Jim continued his passions in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware as a member of the Rehoboth Beach Business Association, spending countless hours restoring his 1967 Pontiac Lemans, and member of multiple VFW’s, and American Legion posts.
Jim was predeceased by his parents James and Helen Curry, and daughter Colleen Curry Barlow. He is survived by his wife Susan (nee Green) Curry of Wallingford, loving friend Judith Thompson of Millington, MD, daughter Kathleen Curry Hice of Philadelphia, brother John R. (Sandy) Curry of Nottingham Twp., grandchildren Dylan Curry of West Chester, John Barlow of Aston, Jayson Hice of Philadelphia, and many more nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Service on Wednesday June 19, 2019 at 1pm. Visitation hours will be from 11am - 1pm at Carr Funeral Home. 935 S. Providence Rd. (Route 320) Wallingford. Interment Lawn Croft Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers it was Jim’s request that donations be sent to Delaware Veterans Post #1, 2535 Veterans Dr, Wilmington, DE 19810.
