Elizabeth S. Davis, 95, passed away December 29, 2017 in Atlanta, GA two days shy of her 96th birthday.
She was born in Brookhaven, PA of Polish Immigrant parents, Andrew and Emily Brzozowski. She graduated from Nether Providence High School, class of 1940. While in High School, she was an avid basketball player and Captain of the field hockey team. Libby also received her Associates Degree in accounting from DCCC.
Libby retired from Swarthmore College after 15 years of service as the administrative assistant in the accounting department, following a career in the admissions department at DCCC.
Following the death of her husband George S Davis, she moved to Maris Grove, Glen Mills, PA where she enjoyed playing numerous card games. Libby’s other joy in life was traveling the world with her husband and family, she was always packed and ready to pursue her next country and a new adventure. Her favorite memories were the yearly trips to Hawaii for 15 years. Special in her heart were trips to Egypt, the Holy Land, Russia and the Scandinavian Countries.
Libby was predeceased by her parents, her husband George S Davis, infant son, George David Davis, siblings Matthew Brzozowski, Natalie Lohrman, Emily Bell, Stanley Brzozowski and Sophie Blanton.
Survivors: Diane D Peake (the late Steve) of Viera, FL, Gary S Davis (Molly) of Atlanta, GA, Robert J Davis (Jill) of Wallingford, PA; grand-children; Heather Lyall (Jason), of League City, TX, Meridith Cole (Jesse), of Port St. John, FL, Emily Davis, of Atlanta, GA, Jackson and Zane Davis of Wallingford, PA. Also survived by 2 great-granddaughters: Jenny and Allie Cole,Sister: Helen McCaffrey (Raymond) of Wilmington, DE and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass: Saturday, January 20th 11:00 AM at St. John Chrysostom Church, 617 S. Providence Rd., Wallingford, PA 19086.
Visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the Mass at the church.
Burial: immediately following at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery, 1701 Market St., Linwood, PA 19061.
