Dr. Elizabeth Hughes Fong from Swarthmore, PA passed away from an undiagnosed medical condition on February 29, 2024. Professionally, she was the Associate Director of Pepperdine University’s online Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis program. She was also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and licensed Behavior Specialist. Lyz was a published researcher in the areas of behavior analysis, culture, and diversity. She also served on the Executive Committee of the American Psychological Association and was the founder of the Multicultural Alliance of Behavior Analysts. A highly regarded expert and mentor, she supported many colleagues as she elevated the field of behavior analysis. She is survived by her husband Steve, daughter Amira, parents Robert and Rosemary Hughes, and sister Joy Hughes. She was an avid runner, enjoyed hiking, and always made time to help others. Lyz was deeply dedicated to her daughter Amira and her pursuit of higher education.
