
David Clark Waltman, 80, of Media, Pa passed away on Sunday May 16th. David was born June 6, 1940 in New Cumberland, Pa to the late Everett C. and Elizabeth BranstetterWaltman. He was a 1958 graduate of Central Dauphin High School and went on to receive a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering from Drexel University.He took Graduate Engineering courses at Villanova University and earned his PA Professional Engineering License.
David was a veteran of the US Army Corps of Engineersservingover two years with the HQ 19 General Support Group/ United Nations Command, Seoul, South Korea after gradation from Drexel.
As a civil engineer he worked in several capacities with the US Naval Command for many years. One of his positions was Director of the Public Works Dept at the U.S. Naval Communication Station, Harold E. Holt, Exmouth, Western Australia. He retired in 2001.
David served his community in many ways. He delivered Meals on Wheels, was a member of the Linglestown American Legion Honor Guard, served over 20 years as an usher for the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra, was twice president of the Stratford Woods HOA, volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and participated in the car line program at his grandsons’ school.
David was a caring, loving and compassionate man, always putting others before himself. He enjoyed working with his hands and loved to build, design and repair things in his workshop. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marjorie Brandt Waltman; sons, Steven Brandt Waltman (Angela), Kenneth Clark Waltman; grandsons, Andrew Everett Waltman, and Thomas Brandt Waltman; sisters, Christine Seiler (Jay) and Louise Waltman; many nieces and nephews.
