David S. Shepherd, 82, of Wallingford passed away on Thursday, December 6th. David was born in Linwood, NJ to the late Otis and Dorothy Shepherd. He was raised and educated in Nether Providence Twp. and was a graduate of Nether Providence High School. He later went on to graduate from the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Engineering. David worked as an engineer for Boeing for 42 years where he served as the head of hydraulics, and was known as “Mr. Hydraulics.” After retiring, he went on to work as a consultant for Boeing for 2 additional years. He loved classic cars and enjoyed repairing, restoring, and racing Corvettes. He also liked to cook and go antiquing. He was a lover of animals, especially his weimaraners. He also enjoyed music, playing both the violin and drums. David enjoyed spending time with his family at his cabin in Montana, where he liked to hike and fish.
He is survived by his Wife of 57 years, Mary Rennie Shepherd; Children, David S. Shepherd, Jr., Laura Goldberg, and Stefanie Shepherd; 7 grandchildren; sister, Jean Meyer; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 15th at 10:30am at Woodlyn Baptist Church 1125 MacDade Blvd. Woodlyn, PA 19094. Friends and family are invited to call in church from 9:30-10:30am. Burial will follow in Chester Rural Cemetery. www.carrfuneralhome.net
