Charles William Haddock of Trinidad, CA & Leesburg, NJ passed away Monday August 9, 2021 at the age of 87. Charles was the son of Charles and Anna Gallagher Haddock of Chester, PA. Charles attended St. Robert’s Elementary School and St. James High School. Upon graduating at age 17, and receiving a waiver to join the US Navy, he served during the Korean War. Upon honorable discharge, Charles enrolled in Temple University, Philadelphia, PA as a Communications major, studying radio and television. After a tour of Temple University's Fine Arts Campus at Tyler School of Fine Arts, Charles' mission and expression in life were discovered.
Charles was Elementary Education Supervisor of Fine Arts before devoting 27 years of Fine Arts instruction to his students at Vineland HS, Vineland, NJ. In the summers when not in the classroom teaching, Charles had a portrait business along the Boardwalk in Wildwood, NJ and Ocean City, MD. He went on to establish in the 1960s VOFAI, the Voice of Fine Arts Instruction, one of the first 'one-on-one' personal Fine Arts series for the individual, via visual and audio aides. In early 1973, Charles held his first one-man exhibition, which exhibited for one full year at the Royal Inn, DisneyWorld, Florida. In 1974, Charles presented a 6 foot circular-framed painting entitled "Creation " to the Rosicrucian Order, San Jose, CA for its world-wide convention and celebration. Charles continued with three major New York exhibitions at the Nicholas Roerich Museum, 1975, 1978, and 1980.
In the 1980s, Charles created the video instruction series titled 'Sketching Nature' and marketed by Master Vision of NY. In the late 1980's, Charles and wife Donna established the Inner Center Fine Arts Institute, inc- a not-for-profit School of Fine Arts for individuals who wished to study the deeper, more philosophical and spiritual motivations and sources for creativity in the Fine Arts. Charles' last major work was to honor Project Hope's 50th Anniversary through the creation of a 16 foot by 8 foot triptych painting depicting the past, present, and future of HOPE.
Charles published three books, now on Amazon, devoted to the study of Fine Arts, Consciousness, and the Quantum Theory. The titles are: Art in the Light; Nature and Your Quantum Observer; and Art-Nature 33.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, his granddaughter Jennifer Haddock and his sister Anne Carr.
Charles is survived by Donna Dean Heldman Haddock, companion and wife of 45 years; his children and step children and their families: Barbara Haddock Taylor, husband Tony and granddaughter Darby; Anthony Paul Haddock and wife Donna; David Charles Haddock and wife Karen; Joseph Scott Haddock and wife Ginny Eash Haddock; stepsons John Brodzik, wife Lynne DeWitt Brodzik, step granddaughters Kelsey Brodzik Nielsen (and her sons Mads Howard and Waylon John Nielsen, ) and Courtney Dean Brodzik; stepson Michael C. Brodzik and wife Karin, step granddaughter Ciera Karen and step grandson Seth Michael; his sister Mary Corsaro and her husband Pat; and brother-in-law Jack Carr.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Celebration of Life on Saturday Sept. 11 at 11 AM in Carr Funeral Home 935 S. Providence Rd. (Route 320) Wallingford, PA 19086. Friends may call after 10 AM.
