Catherine M. “Kaye” (nee Cuff) Noel, 94, of Ulysses, PA, and formerly of Chester, passed away on January 24 after a brief illness, surrounded by her four loving children. She was born in Chester to Patrick and Mary (nee McNulty) Cuff and was a 1942 graduate of Notre Dame High School. Catherine was a homemaker and worked as a secretary for Sun Ship and later for the magistrate in Chester. After raising her family, she moved with her husband to Potter County (“God’s Country”) and worked for Stevens Real Estate.
Catherine enjoyed a decades-long card club with her friends, reading, crossword puzzles, playing cards and games with her family, and occasional trips to the casino with her son, Art. However, her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. Catherine was a member of both the St. Katharine Drexel and St. Bibiana Seniors Groups. She was formerly a member of then St. Robert’s Church and currently a member of St. Bibiana Church in Galeton, PA. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.
Catherine was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 58 years, Arthur, who passed away in 2004, her siblings Joseph Cuff and Mary Egan, two nieces and three nephews.
Catherine was the proud mother of Kathleen (Dennis) Rushton, Art (Linda) Noel, Debra Culbert, with whom she lived, and Cynthia (Dennis) Malseed, 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren with 2 more arriving this year, and her much-loved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass on Thursday, January 31, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 110 N. Manoa Rd., Havertown. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Church. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, Mass cards would be appreciated.
