Carmen Scalora passed away peacefully at home in Aston with his family by his side, on October, 24, 2022.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and his family was the light of his life. He was a kind, humble person with a good sense of humor.
Carmen was born and raised in Catania, Sicily and emigrated to the United States when he was a young man.
He resided in Chester, PA for several years before moving to Aston.
Carmen apprenticed as a shoemaker in Italy and worked in the craft for several years in the US. He then worked for Control Switch (Eaton) as an Electronics Foreman for several years and retired from Sacred Heart Hospital where he worked as a Materials Receiver.
Carmen enjoyed spending time with his family, dancing with his wife, watching old movies & Philly sports and listening to opera. He was a devout Catholic and served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Michaels Church. He was also a proud member of the Order Sons & Daughter of Italy (Lodge XII October).
He is predeceased by his parents Mariano and Carmela Scalora, brothers, Phillip, Salvatore, Rosario, Joseph and sisters Rose and Ninetta.
Carmen is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Angela, children Dr. Mario J. Scalora and Carmela Scalora and three grandchildren, Christine, Nicholas (Lindsay Matthews) and Marissa Scalora (Kyle Anderson), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.
His Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 31st, 2022 at 10:30am at St. Katharine Drexel Church 1920 Providence Ave. Chester, PA. Friends and famaily are invited to his viewing from 9:30-10:30 in Church. Burial will follow in SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
Carmen's family is grateful to the nursing staff at Crozer ER, 2North and the Crozer Hospice nurses and team for the care they provided to him.
