Carl V. Sanbe, (79), of Aston, Pennsylvania, passed away on May 11, 2023, at Riddle Hospital. He was a loving father and a cherished member of his community. Carl was born to Vincent and Virginia Sanbe on July 20, 1943, in Chester, Pennsylvania. He attended St. James High School and later served his country in the United States Air Force, where he was honorably discharged on August 14, 1967.
Carl had a deep passion for history, and he was widely known as a huge history buff. He possessed a wealth of knowledge on various historical events and took great pleasure in sharing his insights with others. Another of Carl's great loves was the beach. Whether it was basking in the sun, listening to the sound of the waves, deep sea fishing or along the shoreline, or taking long walks along the shoreline, he found solace and tranquility by the sea.
Professionally, Carl had a successful career at Scott Paper Company, where he made lasting contributions over the years. However, he was also known to many in the community as a fixture with the family business and eventual co-owner of Sanbe's Steaks and Hoagies. Carl took pride in providing delicious food, connecting with the community, and creating a welcoming atmosphere in his establishment.
Despite his accomplishments, Carl's greatest joy in life came from spending time with his family. He loved his four children and cherished the moments he shared with each of them. Carl is survived by his four children, and he will be deeply missed by them and his extended family. Norman Sanbe (Kathy) and their children Joey, Norman, and Jordyn; Natalie Fausel (David); Valerie Griffin (Thomas) and their children Alaina, Dylan, and Jacob; and Carla Sanbe and her children Damian, Stephen, and Alexis were the center of his world. He was a fun-loving and supportive father and a doting grandfather who always made sure his family felt loved and valued. He was predeceased by his parents, Vincent and Virginia, and his sister Angela. Their memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
A service to celebrate Carl's life will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery in Linwood, Pennsylvania. Family and friends are invited to attend and pay their final respects to a remarkable man. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund in Carl's name. This cause held a special place in his heart, and contributing to it would be a meaningful way to honor his memory.
Carl V. Sanbe touched the lives of many through his kindness, wisdom, sense of humor, and genuine love for his family. His legacy will continue to inspire and guide those who had the privilege of knowing him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
