 | Bernice F. Ewing, 81, of Brookhaven died January 4, 2016 at Brookside Rehab Center. Mrs. Ewing was born in Danville, VA the daughter of the late Henry and Ruby nee Mitchell Fenza. Bernie graduated from Ridley High School and Delaware County Community College with a degree in Nursing. She was employed at the Lima Juvenile Detention Center for 16 years as a Nurse. She organized and coached the girl cheerleaders at St. James High School. After forming the cheerleaders other schools in the Philadelphia Catholic League followed with girls cheering for all boy schools. Bernie is survived by her husband Robert C. Ewing, two sons Robert C. Jr. (Susan), of Ridley Park, Michael (Sharon) of Swarthmore, Grandsons Bobby (Lisa), Michael (Jeanne), Jeffrey, Four Great Grandchildren. Her Funeral Service will be on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at the Carr Funeral Home 935 S. Providence Rd. (Rt. 320) Wallingford where friends may call from 9:30 to 11:00 A.M. Int. Private |
