Arthur J. Quattro, 98, of Brookhaven, PA passed away peacefully on February 26th, 2023. He was born in Chester to the late Salvatore and Mary Ficcirelli Quattro. Arthur was a 1942 graduate of Chester High School. He enlisted in the US Navy shortly after high school and served on a destroyer escort during WWII in the Atlantic and Pacific Theatres of War. He was a proud Navy veteran and often spoke of his wartime experiences. After the war, he went on to earn a business degree from Sleeper's Business College in Chester. He taught accounting classes there at Sleeper's during the 1960's and 70's. Arthur worked in the bookkeeping department of the Red Arrow Bus Lines (now SEPTA) before moving on to PNB/Core States Bank where he was a certified bank auditor until his retirement. He then worked part-time for many years at the PSTC Credit Union in Upper Darby.
Mr. Quattro was also very handy and made many improvements to his residence as well as many repairs and outdoor projects. Arthur helped many people prepare their taxes each year and continued doing that until 2019. In his retirement, he enjoyed traveling. He took road trips around the country in his camper with his wife, Shirley. They took many cruises together and liked to go to the Atlantic City casinos.
In addition to his parents, Arthur was predeceased by his beloved wife, Elizabeth (Shirley) Bundick Quattro in 2016; his son, James A Quattro (Linda) in 2021; brothers. Anthony and Oreste. He is survived by his eldest son, Stephen J. Quattro (Sandra); 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren
Friends and family are invited for visitation on Monday, March 6th from 9-10:30 am at the Carr Funeral Home 935 S. Providence Rd. Wallingford, PA. Funeral mass will follow at 11am at Our Lady of Charity Church in Brookhaven. Burial will be in SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
