Agnes R. (nee Hyland) O’Keefe, 94, passed away on April 27, 2017. Agnes was born in Philadelphia to Francis and Margaret (nee Cluney) Hyland. She was raised in St. Agatha Parish and attended West Catholic High School. She married Thomas P. O’Keefe and was a homemaker until his death in 1959. She then worked as a secretary at Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital for 20 years retiring in 1987.
Agnes enjoyed the casino, bingo and spending her summers in Sea Isle City. Her family was most important to her. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband and her 10 siblings, Frank Hyland, Joseph Hyland, Mary Hyland, Margaret Mellor, Rose Binder, Florence Quinn, Anna Mae Doyle, Patricia Mahoney, Daniel Hyland and Elizabeth Hetu.
Agnes is survived by her daughter Kathleen (Francis) Hogan of Newtown Square, grandchildren Katie (Kevin) Carr of Newtown Square, Francis (Jimmy) Hogan Jr. of Philadelphia, and great-grandson Nicholas. Special aunt to Maureen Hetu, Joan Dugent and Agnes Connor, and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass of Tuesday May 2 at 11:00 AM in SS. Simon and Jude Church 8 Cavanaugh Ct., West Chester, PA 19382 where friends may call from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM.
