| Phyllis L. Neaves (nee Richman) passed away suddenly on August 22, 2020, at the age of 82, surrounded by her loving daughters. She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Angus Neaves, of Leven, Fife, Scotland. Phyllis was born in Philadelphia, the daughter of Jack A. and Nina Richman. She graduated from Cheltenham High School and Temple University, where she was a member of Kappa Delta Epsilon, the English Honor Society, and Hillel, and where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Education. Phyllis was a teacher of third and fourth grade in the Cheltenham school district, and reading in the Wallingford-Swarthmore school district. She volunteered for the Junior League of Philadelphia, Women of Widener, the Delaware County Democratic Committee, and was actively involved in the local schools. Phyllis was a supporter of the Arts who faithfully attended the Pennsylvania Ballet, the Philadelphia Orchestra, and the Walnut Street Theater. She was a member of the Community Arts Center in Wallingford, the Rose Valley Folk, and a patron of the Helen Kate Furness Library. Additionally, she spent time with her book and supper clubs, and many years as a part of the Rose Valley Swimming Pool 1000 Lap Club. Cherished memories were created in New Hampshire, where she was a member of the Partridge Lake Property Owners’ Association. Phyllis was a remarkable mother and grandmother, who placed her family at the center of everything in her life. We cannot convey the depth of our sorrow upon losing our beloved Mimi. She will be missed and lovingly remembered by her daughters Alison Keffer (Bill), Elizabeth Straw (Stu), and Kathleen Krejci (Kent), her grandchildren, Jack and Sarah Keffer, Emma and Caroline Straw, Marguerite, Sophie, and James Krejci, her brother, Edward Richman (Anyce), and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends. A private service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, August 29, at 11 am and simultaneously live-streamed for those not physically present.
