Eleanor (Vasey) Leavens, age 94, of Media, formerly of Wallingford, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 28, 2025. Eleanor was born in Philadelphia in 1931 to the late Albert and Jane (Smith) Vasey. Loving mother of Eleanor Voldish (Bob) of Sterling, VA, Kathy Thayne of Stratford, NJ, Jim Leavens of Folsom, PA, Larry Leavens of Downingtown, PA, Fran Leavens (Jean) of Eagleville, PA, and Joe Leavens (Patty) of Thornton, PA. She is survived by eighteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren, her sister Carol Pauls (Dick) and many nieces and nephews, all who will never forget the love she brought to their lives. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim, sisters Laura “Jean” Meyers and Barbara Button, and daughter-in-law Patty Leavens.
Eleanor and Jim enjoyed 51 years of marriage before his passing in 2005. Eleanor was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She worked as a bookkeeper at Springton Tennis for many years before retiring in 2012. She took special joy in hosting family gatherings and had fond memories of large family vacations in the Outer Banks. She hosted the best sleepovers for her grandchildren, often cooking their favorite meals and serving her famous milkshakes, while letting them stay up late and watch movies or play games. She was a cherished role model to her children and grandchildren, leaving a legacy of faith, love, and kindness. Her presence will be deeply missed by her family and all who were privileged to know her.

Her Funeral Mass will be held Friday, April 4, at 11:00 at St. John Chrysostom Church, 617 S. Providence Road, Wallingford, PA 19086. Friends and family are invited for viewing from 9:00-10:45 in church. Burial will follow in Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 Sproul Road, Springfield, PA 19064.
