It is with deep love and sadness that we announce that Deborah S. Edwards, 72, of Wallingford, PA, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, at Lankenau Hospital, surrounded by her husband and sons.

Debbie was born in Philadelphia to the late William and Helen Smith. She attended both St. Timothy’s School and Maternity BVM School in Philadelphia and graduated with the Class of 1971 from Archbishop Ryan High School.
Debbie worked for 35 years as a bus driver in the Wallingford-Swarthmore School District, where she touched the lives of the many students she transported over the years.
Debbie was known for her hilarious life stories, which were loved by all. She always entered a room with a smile and made friends wherever she went. Debbie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed spending time caring for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed attending her children’s and grandchildren’s many sporting events and activities.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Maria Yost (Mike Yost), Pat Mower (Bill Mower, deceased), and Bill Smith (Michele Smith).
Debbie is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Harry P. Edwards; her children, Tim (Beth) and Christopher (Danielle); her grandchildren, Luke, Jack, Landon, Emma, Scarlett, and Colin; and her sisters, Karen Schmidt (Jim) and Kathy Stern (Mark).
Her Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 28, at 11:00 AM at St. John Chrysostom Church, 617 S. Providence Road, Wallingford, PA. Friends and family are invited to a visitation from 9:00–11:00 AM prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Charities of Philadelphia. Home - Catholic Charities of Philadelphia
Her smile, sense of humor, and kindness will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Debbie was truly one of a kind. She was the funniest person to be around and always had a way of making everyone laugh. Celebrating birthdays and special moments with her was always such a joy because she brought so much life and humor into every gathering.

She was a real character, and her laughter and spirit made every room brighter. I will always treasure those memories and the happiness she brought to all of us. She will be deeply missed and always remembered with love.

I remember Debbie very well; we were the two tallest at BVM so we were always stuck together at the end of the line or procession. Somewhere there's a photo of us at the end of some procession I think crowning the statue and we, unbeknownst to us, were wearing the same dress!

Debbie sat behind me in homeroom at Ryan. We had so much fun together and laughed all the time. She was so kind.

Rest in peace, Debbie.

Aunt Debbie had the biggest heart and an even bigger smile. I remember her telling stories around the table that got everyone laughing. She was always so welcoming, warm and kind. She is missed now but will always be loved. My condolences to Uncle Harry, Tim + Beth, and Chris + Danielle and their families.

I'm sorry to hear of Debbie's passing. I remember her mostly from Maternity BVM grade school. She had a happy disposition and was always ready for a good laugh. I haven't seen her since we graduated from Archbishop Ryan H.S. but after reading her obituary it sounds as though this was the way she lived her life.
My sincere condolences to her family and friends, I know that she is missed.

What a great lady! Debbie always welcomed me with open arms when I visited. She would laugh when Harry and I came back from a basketball meeting...asking "how was the cult meeting?"
